In the frigid open air, two figures on horseback engage in conversation. Although the piece is minimalistic, the atmosphere is clearly portrayed by the hunched positions and icy breath of the figures as well as the scraggly fence remnant. The dashes of color and rough composition add a pop of life to an almost bleak scene.
