Standing against an expansive sagebrush country composed of rough, muted strokes, the vibrant and exquisitely detailed figures of man and horse stand stoically facing the sun. Parallels abound between them, as both are similarly colored, positioned, and adorned.
This piece was featured as the cover art for the May 1934 issue of Boys’ Life magazine, a publication of the Boy Scouts of America.
