Standing at a three-quarters position from the artist and viewer, a woman holds her arms away from her body and twists towards us. Expressionless, Dixon turns this portrait of a women into a study of form, figure, and shape. His lines seamlessly transition from thick to thin in a skilled effort to portray the dimensions and contours of the body with precision. Faint shadows are added to the legs and breasts of the figure to emphasize her form.
