Cool and warm tones are set in juxtaposition with one another around a path cut through a winter scene. Gentle blue shadows spread across white snow, conversely pierced by the bright golds and muted reds of the vegetation. Through the sandy trees the viewer catches the occasional glimpse of snowy, rambling mountains.
