A carefully woven nest sits atop a blooming prickly rose bush. A robin’s characteristically bright blue-green eggs nestle together as the focal point of this piece. Layers of foliage stack to create a busy perimeter, disrupted by soft pink and yellow-centered blossoms. Eaton’s use of watercolor allows for light to illuminate the scene from behind by skillfully incorporating the use of negative space.
