A cluster of stone buildings, glowing in the warm light, overlook a vast and indistinct desert landscape. There is a marked contrast between the warmth of the dusky lighting and the desolation of the buildings, creating a sense of tranquility and solitude.
The village of Oraibi is a Hopi community and dates back to 1100 AD, making it one of the oldest continually inhabited settlements in the United States.
