Signed Lower Right: Charles H. Pabst / Evening Storm
Through an impressive array of light and color, Pabst captures the intense yet tranquil atmosphere of an evening storm in the Arizona desert. Despite the magnificent scene, three shepherds turn their backs to the sky and give their complete attention to protecting their flock. Incredible detail is given to the foreground and shading of the canyons, which beautifully contrasts the soft and bright clouds in the distance. This work captures the artist’s signature palette of rich and vibrant colors and emits a sense of serenity.
