A waterfall cascades down the small ridges of the landscape and into a slow-moving stream which meanders toward the viewer. A tributary trickles into the stream, adding quiet beauty to the serene atmosphere. Snow-capped mountains rise majestically in the background, and the winding river can be seen cutting through the distant landscape. The golden sunlight creates dramatic contours on the landscape, adding depth and dimension to the scene. The misty atmosphere lends the painting a dreamlike quality.
