The shy buds of wildflowers emerge on the hillside in soft displays of pinks, yellows, and whites. The trees, drenched in deep greens, delicately reflect the early morning light in dashes of white. As an overgrown dirt path meanders toward an old wooden gate, partially ajar, a glimpse of a field beyond peeks through the trees. The sky above is awash with hues of pale pink and gold, and in the distance, the steeple of St. Deiniol’s Church in the village of Hawarden, rises above the tranquil countryside scene.
